The plane trees
Unlike the standalone monumental trees of the park, these four giants grow close together, forming one vast shared canopy. They stand where the Lario wing curves outward, bordering a sweeping lawn that faces the water.
Their massive, mottled trunks create a microclimate of dense, cool shade. The largest plane trees on the estate exceed 5 to 6 metres in circumference and are over 210 years old, older than the modern complex and even the late-19th-century Villa Antica.

The Zen garden
Hidden between the Lario wing of the congress centre and the plane tree bay, a small Zen garden redesigned by Japanese master Yasuo Kitayama and restored in 2014 hosts the Nymphaeum installation.

Nymphaeum
Glazed 3D printed stoneware. An immersive installation celebrating the primordial, sacred dimension of water: an invisible presence in the mineral depths of the soil, from which all living forms originate.
A constellation of ceramic basins emerges as a fluid organism: cellular aggregates, mineral concretions, spring-like cavities. The classical nymphaeum becomes a sensory landscape where water, matter and vegetation resonate with one another.
